Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and several podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.
Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have gained significant medical instruction with a main focus on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to deal with difficulties ranging from common ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which give them the prior experience required to execute surgery on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.
Our Doctors likewise have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of countless complications which the feet usually encounter.
