Bonnyville Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Bonnyville concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They invest around 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs lie within these institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained thorough medical training with a focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are skilled to deal with complications extending from common ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of countless troubles which the feet typically experience.
