Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Calgary Sunpark specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.
At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained comprehensive medical education with a main focus on concerns regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to deal with conditions ranging from common disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
