Foot Institute Doctors spend approximately 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained significant health care instruction with a concentration on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to care for concerns extending from normal problems like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical training which give them the prior experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and help prevent numerous troubles which the feet usually encounter.
