Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained extensive healthcare training with an emphasis on issues pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to care for problems ranging from commonplace afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against a large number of problems which the feet regularly experience.
