We would be please to help you at one of our other Alberta foot clinics.
Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Wainwright focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest approximately a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.
Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable healthcare instruction with a focus on complications concerning the feet and ankles. They are studied to address issues ranging from usual disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical education which provide them the practical experience needed to conduct surgery on those conditions that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.
Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent a large number of troubles which the feet commonly encounter.
