Doctors at The Foot Institute – Calgary Sunpark provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and actually quite a number podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.
Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired encompassing medical education with an importance on problems concerning the feet and ankles. They are trained to handle complications stretching from standard ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
