Strathmore Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Strathmore focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received comprehensive medical instruction with a concentration on issues concerning the feet and ankles. They are educated to treat difficulties varying from familiar disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against many troubles which the feet typically encounter.
