Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired extensive healthcare training with an importance on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat concerns varying from standard afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more intricate such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which supply them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and minimize the risk of many complications which the feet regularly encounter.
