Fort Saskatchewan Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Fort Saskatchewan focus on the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They put in around a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in point of fact a number of podiatry programmes lie within these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired thorough medical instruction with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat complications varying from usual ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which provide them the experience essential to perform surgery on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against a large number of troubles which the feet usually encounter.
