Fort Saskatchewan Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Fort Saskatchewan provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact quite a number podiatry programs are located inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained wide-ranging healthcare instruction with an attention to on difficulties pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat complications ranging from standard afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which give them the experience required to execute surgical treatment on those concerns that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and defend against many conditions which the feet usually encounter.
