Chestermere Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Chestermere specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest around 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programs lie inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received comprehensive healthcare education with an emphasis on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to handle conditions ranging from standard ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which give them the practical experience vital to perform surgery on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent many problems which the feet normally encounter.
