Beaumont Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Beaumont specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programmes are located within these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired comprehensive medical training with a main focus on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to care for concerns ranging from conventional ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical training which furnish them the practical experience required to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many conditions which the feet regularly experience.
