Medicine Hat Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Medicine Hat provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired wide-ranging medical training with an attention to on issues involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to handle problems stretching from normal disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which give them the prior experience vital to conduct surgery on those troubles that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and prevent countless problems which the feet commonly experience.
