Podiatrists here at The Foot Institute – Calgary Sunpark concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in reality various podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received thorough healthcare education with an emphasis on complications involving the ankles and feet. They are educated to manage concerns stretching from common problems like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
