Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received significant medical training with a stress on complications concerning the feet and ankles. They are instructed to treat concerns ranging from typical conditions for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience required to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of many troubles which the feet typically encounter.
