Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in about a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and many podiatry programs lie within these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained considerable healthcare training with a stress on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat difficulties ranging from standard disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which provide them the skill essential to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of countless problems which the feet frequently encounter.
