Foot Institute Doctors invest around ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact various podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received considerable medical training with a main focus on complications concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to deal with issues ranging from regular problems like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which supply them the experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent many issues which the feet normally experience.
