Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in about a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and quite a number podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired thorough healthcare instruction with a stress on problems concerning the feet and ankles. They are studied to treat complications extending from regular disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which give them the expertise necessary to execute surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and protect against a large number of issues which the feet normally experience.
