Foot Institute Podiatrists spend around 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and actually several podiatry training programs are located within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired comprehensive health care instruction with an emphasis on complications regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to treat conditions stretching from conventional problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more intricate like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the practical experience essential to perform surgery on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities facilitates a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid countless conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
