Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have obtained significant medical education with a focus on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to handle problems ranging from simple ailments like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which give them the skill essential to conduct surgery on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Foot doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent numerous conditions which the feet generally encounter.
