Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired wide-ranging medical training with a concentration on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat difficulties ranging from common problems like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which provide them the expertise crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet normally encounter.
