They invest an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired encompassing health care instruction with a concentration on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems stretching from general disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which supply them the expertise required to carry out surgery on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against a large number of problems which the feet regularly encounter.
