Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in point of fact numerous podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired wide-ranging healthcare training with an emphasis on issues involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to manage problems stretching from standard problems for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet typically experience.
