They devote an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are contained inside these institutions. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received wide-ranging healthcare training with an importance on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to handle concerns stretching from normal conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which supply them the experience required to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.
Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and avoid many complications which the feet normally encounter.
