Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are contained within these institutions. At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received wide-ranging medical training with a main focus on issues pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to deal with problems ranging from conventional ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which provide them the experience crucial to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or carry out other tasks.
