Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They put in approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and various podiatry programs are located within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received substantial healthcare training with a focus on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems ranging from commonplace afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
