Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are contained within these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained extensive medical instruction with a stress on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to address difficulties ranging from basic problems for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical instruction which give them the practical experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those troubles that are best handled through surgical intervention.
