Foot Institute Podiatrists put in approximately a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and many podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received extensive medical training with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to deal with complications varying from general disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which furnish them the experience required to execute surgery on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet regularly experience.
