Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programs are contained within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging health care education with an emphasis on difficulties involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to deal with complications varying from familiar problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which provide them the skill required to perform surgery on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.
