Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing medical training with a focus on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to address difficulties varying from standard problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities.
