Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and in reality various podiatry programmes are located within these schools. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received significant medical instruction with a focus on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to deal with problems ranging from conventional ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which supply them the skill needed to execute surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities.
