Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They spend approximately ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired encompassing health care education with an emphasis on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to treat issues stretching from regular ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
