Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and numerous podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received significant health care training with an emphasis on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to treat problems ranging from commonplace ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which supply them the experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics that can offer pain relief and help prevent a large number of troubles which the feet regularly encounter.
