Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in point of fact a number of podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired wide-ranging healthcare education with an importance on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for difficulties extending from simple disorders like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which supply them the prior experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities.
