Foot Institute Doctors put in approximately ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programmes lie within these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive medical training with a focus on issues involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems extending from basic problems for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which supply them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent many issues which the feet routinely experience.
