Foot Institute Doctors spend about a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and actually various podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough medical instruction with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to treat issues ranging from regular disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of problems which the feet routinely experience.
