Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They invest about a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs lie within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received thorough healthcare instruction with a stress on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat concerns ranging from familiar conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the prior experience required to execute surgical treatment on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and help prevent many issues which the feet frequently experience.
