Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists spend about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired substantial medical training with an importance on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to address concerns stretching from normal problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which give them the practical experience needed to carry out surgery on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against countless issues which the feet normally experience.
