Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received extensive health care education with an emphasis on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to deal with problems varying from conventional ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complex including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which give them the experience vital to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.
