Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote an average of ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programmes lie within these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired extensive healthcare instruction with an emphasis on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to treat difficulties ranging from familiar ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which supply them the expertise vital to execute surgery on those concerns that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities permits a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against a large number of complications which the feet typically encounter.
