Foot Institute Podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and actually many podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired wide-ranging health care instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to manage difficulties extending from typical afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical training which furnish them the prior experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and prevent many troubles which the feet frequently experience.
