Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and many podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired thorough medical training with an importance on complications involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to care for problems extending from simple ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which give them the expertise needed to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous conditions which the feet usually encounter.
