Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists put in around ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging health care education with a focus on difficulties concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to address problems extending from basic afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
