Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received encompassing medical training with a main focus on concerns concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to address conditions stretching from basic ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against numerous issues which the feet typically encounter.
