Our doctors devote around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and actually many podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained considerable medical training with a main focus on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are educated to handle problems varying from familiar ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgery on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatric doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid a large number of problems which the feet regularly encounter.
