Our doctors spend about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programs lie within these institutions. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained comprehensive health care training with an emphasis on problems involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat concerns ranging from simple problems like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the experience essential to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of many troubles which the feet routinely encounter.
