Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received wide-ranging medical education with an emphasis on difficulties concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to manage issues extending from conventional problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical education which supply them the skill required to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Foot doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent countless troubles which the feet typically experience.
