Our doctors spend about 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained comprehensive healthcare training with a concentration on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to treat issues stretching from commonplace problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which give them the experience required to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against a large number of conditions which the feet typically encounter.
