Foot Institute Podiatrists put in around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired significant health care training with a concentration on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat complications stretching from familiar problems like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more intricate for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which give them the experience vital to perform surgery on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and avoid a large number of issues which the feet frequently encounter.
