Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and quite a number podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing medical training with a main focus on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to deal with concerns ranging from typical afflictions for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which furnish them the prior experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics that can offer pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet usually experience.
