Foot Institute Podiatrists spend about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in fact various podiatry programmes are contained within these academic institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained significant healthcare training with a stress on concerns regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to address problems ranging from conventional problems like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complex such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which supply them the prior experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities.
