Foot Institute Podiatrists devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in fact many podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received encompassing healthcare training with a concentration on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are studied to care for concerns ranging from conventional ailments like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which supply them the expertise necessary to carry out surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of conditions which the feet normally encounter.
