Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote an average of a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received comprehensive medical training with a concentration on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for issues ranging from standard problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical instruction which furnish them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.
